AIXTRON's new manufacturing & engineering hub in Malaysia

We are building a new greenfield manufacturing and engineering hub in Batu Kawan, Penang. The site will provide a state-of-the-art cleanroom environment for assembly & test of our high-end systems and will contribute to engineering the next generation of products. Operations are planned to start in 2027 with rapid ramp-up. Responsibilities

Production Scheduling

  • Convert sales forecasts and confirmed customer orders into a detailed weekly / daily production schedule.
  • Develop constraint-based production schedules considering capacity, tooling, and material availability.
  • Optimize sequencing to reduce changeovers, idle time, and bottlenecks.
  • Sequence production runs to minimize changeover time, meet delivery dates, and utilize capacity efficiently.
  • Issue production orders to shop floor and monitor progress against schedule.
  • Reschedule orders dynamically to address machine breakdowns, material shortages, or urgent customer requests.

Production Capacity & Resource Planning

  • Assess available manpower and tooling against production requirements.
  • Identify capacity bottlenecks and propose overtime, shifts, or outsourcing.
  • Work with facility team to schedule preventive facility maintenance without disrupting critical orders.
  • Maintain accurate production order data in SAP.
  • Generate daily / weekly production achievement reports.

Shopfloor Control / Execution Tracking

  • Monitor schedule adherence and take corrective actions for deviations.
  • Work closely with production supervisors to adjust execution priorities.

Coordination with Material Planning

  • Develop production schedules based on confirmed material availability and constraints provided by Material Planning.
  • Provide material planners with a rolling forecast of requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse for timely issuance of materials and receipt of finished goods.
  • Escalate schedule risks caused by material constraints to Material Planning.

Order Fulfillment & Improvements

  • Communicate realistic delivery dates to sales / customer service teams.
  • Track on time delivery performance and lead root cause analysis for delays.
  • Manage expediting requests and prioritize production accordingly.
  • Track production schedule adherence and on time delivery KPIs to drive improvements.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years in material planning, production planning, or inventory control within a Malaysian manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of capacity planning BOM structures, manufacturing routing.
  • Experience with LMW is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in SAP systems Production Planning module and advanced Excel.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail,
  • Ability to work under pressure, and shop floor communication.
  • Fluent in English; Bahasa Malaysia.

Working Conditions & Environment

  • Role based at AIXTRON Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
  • Majority of the work is at Batu Kawan site; work at Kulim site will be requested as needed.
