Summary
- Assists the PM in leading the project from planning, execution, until completion
- Helps ensure that the project is delivered on-time and within budget
- Helps support resource plan, and works on resource availability and allocation
- Supports the project manager in change management activities
- Helps with regular project status reporting as well as in documenting MoM's
- Assists in providing information to the PM for critical project decisions and activities
- Helps support issue and risk management activities
Roles and Responsibilities
- Project Governance: organizes and helps facilitate regular cadence meetings such as the project status meetings; helps plan and maintain stakeholder management activities; helps maintain and manage the project-level action items identified throughout the project
- Change Management supports change management by helping maintain and provide information that is essential to this process
- Scope Management: assists the project manager in managing and monitoring the delivery of the scope; helps build the project plan of the project along with the maintenance of the work management tool that will be used
- Time Management: helps with scheduling resources and activities; assists in reviewing timesheet entries in-relation to project invoicing needs
- Cost Management: helps manage and maintain the project budget sheet
- Quality Management: supports QM processes by helping follow-thru on the delivery of related documents that ensure the quality of the project's delivery (e.g. Acceptance Forms, Cutover Plan, Go or No-Go materials)
- Risk Management assists in managing and maintaining the risk register of the project
- Issue Management assists in managing and maintaining the issue register of the project
- Resource Management: assists the project manager in ensuring that the resource needs of the project are raised and addressed in a timely manner
- Communication Management: supports the project manager by helping create, maintain and follow the project communication plan; maintains and disseminates MoM's for meetings organized by the project manager; assists in drafting and sending out vital project communications; helps ensure effective communication lines within the project team
- Test Management (if demand applies): leads the testing team and helps ensure that the results of the testing activities are done successfully as planned, and within the pre-agreed success criteria of the project
Qualifications
- At least five years of experience working in a Project Management Office or at least three years of experience working as a project manager
