Job Description

We are supporting an international offshore Oil & Gas project and are looking for experienced Project Planners / Planning Engineers to join an upcoming FPSO Brownfield modification and shutdown campaign.

The assignment will begin with an approximately 6-month planning and preparation phase in Kuala Lumpur, followed by mobilisation to Angola for the onshore and offshore execution phases.

This could be a strong fit for experienced planners who enjoy being close to project execution and have personally built and managed detailed schedules rather than only reporting against them.

What You Will Be Doing

You will support the planning, preparation and execution of a major offshore Brownfield / shutdown campaign. Some of your tasks may include the following:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
  • Build and manage baseline and integrated master schedules.
  • Integrate Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Offshore Execution, and Commissioning activities into the overall programme.
  • Develop detailed shutdown, construction, hook-up, tie-in and commissioning schedules.
  • Establish schedule logic, dependencies, milestones and critical paths.
  • Track progress against baseline and identify schedule risks or potential delays.
  • Prepare short-term look-ahead schedules and progress forecasts.
  • Integrate contractor and subcontractor schedules into the overall programme.
  • Develop recovery or acceleration plans where required.
  • Support live execution planning and frequent schedule updates during the shutdown phase.

What We Are Looking For

We would be keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on project planning / scheduling experience in Oil & Gas or a closely related heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience in FPSO, offshore production facilities, Brownfield modifications, shutdowns or turnarounds.
  • Strong practical experience using Primavera P6.
  • Exposure to areas such as offshore construction, tie-ins, hook-up, commissioning, SIMOPS or work on live operating assets.
  • Good understanding of WBS development, schedule logic, Critical Path Method, progress measurement and look-ahead planning.
  • Site or execution-phase experience ideally in offshore Oil & Gas.

Candidates with strong refinery or petrochemical turnaround / shutdown planning experience may also be considered, particularly where they have managed complex live-plant execution schedules.

Travel Requirements

  • Planning Phase: 6 months in KL
  • Execution Phase: 1 month onshore in Angola
  • Offshore Phase: 1 month offshore in Angola
  • Flights, accommodation, and project-related mobilisation will be provided for by the company.

To Apply

Please write in with an updated CV to [Confidential Information] quoting the above job title. Do consider brief details of your most relevant FPSO, offshore, shutdown, or turnaround prpoject experience. If you have built and controlled complex project schedules and have experience supporting shutdown, turnaround or offshore execution work, we would be keen to hear from you.
