A rapidly expanding multinational consumer business with growing operations across multiple international markets. The organization is strengthening its regional operational, supply chain, and compliance capabilities to support scalable business growth.

Job Summary:

Regional Supply Chain Operations Director leads and scales trade and compliance operations across APAC, ensuring consistent, efficient, and compliant execution across all markets.

The role is responsible for designing and improving the regional operating model, including governance, workflows, and decision-making structures, while translating global strategies into practical country-level execution.

It focuses on building a scalable and structured organization with strong governance, standardized processes, and leadership capability to support business growth.

The role requires strong business judgement to balance commercial needs, operational execution, and compliance requirements across diverse markets.

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Ownership & Operational Excellence

  • Own end-to-end supply chain performance across APAC including: import/export operations, customs clearance and trade compliance, product and regulatory compliance and cross-border operational coordination.
  • Ensure operations are stable, predictable, and scalable; cost-efficient and compliant, aligned with business growth requirements and serve as the primary escalation point for complex cross-country operational and compliance issues.

Operating Model, Governance & Decision Architecture (Core Responsibility)

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve a scalable regional supply chain operating model.
  • Define clear ownership and accountability across HQ, regional, and country teams.
  • Establish and govern, decision rights, scalation layers, RACI frameworks, execution workflows and governance structures.
  • Ensure workflows move efficiently from intake → execution → escalation → resolution.
  • Reduce operational dependency on individuals through structured governance and standardized workflows, role clarity and system-enabled controls.
  • Build scalable and repeatable execution models that can adapt to different market maturity levels and future business expansion.

Regional Leadership in a Matrix Environment

  • Lead country-level Import and Product Compliance teams through functional leadership structure.
  • Drive regional alignment and execution consistency without direct reporting authority
  • Ensure adherence to global supply chain frameworks, standard operating procedures, KPI expectations and governance standards.
  • Foster strong collaboration across countries while balancing local operational realities and business requirements

Transformation, Standardization & System Enablement

  • Identify opportunies to simplify workflows, standardize processes, automate recurring activities.
  • Improve operational scalability and efficiency.
  • Drive adoption and effective utilization of systems such as Supply Chain Related System.
  • Improve operational visibility, data accuracy and reliability, decision-making efficiency, governance and control.
  • Reduce reliance on manual intervention and individual judgement in routine operations
  • Drive behavioral and operational change to embed system-driven execution culture across the region

Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Work closely with Country Heads, purchasing teams, warehouse & supply chain teams, business development and expansion teams.
  • Balance commercial objectives, compliance requirements, operational feasibility, risk management considerations.
  • Influence and align stakeholders across markets to ensure effective execution, business continuity, and sustainable growth.
  • Provide practical and commercially balanced recommendations during operational and compliance decision-making.

Leadership Development & Organizational Capability Building

  • Build and strengthen a high-performing regional supply chain leadership team.
  • Develop strong second-layer leadership and succession pipeline across the region.
  • Coach and develop leaders who can operate independently with strong ownership, make sound decisions without unnecessary escalation, balance operational, compliance, and commercial priorities and adapt frameworks and systems to evolving business needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, scalable and disciplined execution.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of logistics and supply chain experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of global customs, trade compliance, freight forwarding, carrier network.
  • Proven success in operations optimization, cost reduction initiative, and large-scale
  • logistics network management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and continuous improvement mindset, comfortable working in fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Strong leadership experience in multicultural and/or regional/global teams.
  • Fluency in English writing and speaking. Can understand Mandarin will be an added advantage.
