Who We Are Looking For:

Your mission is to shorten time-to-productivity and raise delivery standards across the Editorial & Scientific Services team—so new and existing talent can deliver high-quality work at scale for global agency clients.

You will design and run the talent onboarding and capability building programme for our Malaysia hub, partnering with recruitment/HR, editorial leadership, operations, and delivery teams. You will enable teams to deliver consistently by:

  • Running structured onboarding pathways and role-based learning plans.
  • Embedding SOPs, quality standards, and scientific integrity checks into everyday delivery.
  • Standardising efficient ways of working (including responsible AI-enabled workflows) to meet timeline and productivity expectations.

This is an individual contributor role with strong influence. You will partner with senior leaders across the business to elevate our scientific services and realise our business goals.

What Impact You Will Make:

1. Onboarding & capability building

  • Support talent acquisition and own end-to-end onboarding for MedComms talent to minimise time to independence.
  • Build role-based learning paths (e.g., editor, medical writer, QC reviewer) using self-study, live sessions, and on-the-job practice.
  • Train teams on global agency ways of working (deliverables, workflows, review cycles, and client expectations).

2. SOPs, quality and best practice

  • Convert SOPs, style guides, and quality frameworks into usable training assets (checklists, templates, examples, playbooks).
  • Run calibration sessions, clinics, and refreshers to reduce variability and reinforce standards.
  • Partner with QA/editorial leadership to address recurring issues through targeted coaching and micro-learning.

3. Operational efficiency & ways of working

  • Partner with operations to map key workflows (including but not limited to publications, medical affairs, marketing and digital content creation) and identify capability gaps impacting delivery.
  • Embed standard ways of working into onboarding and training.
  • Use data (QC findings, rework, client feedback) to prioritise interventions and improve throughput.

4. Programme design, delivery & iteration

  • Design and facilitate training on editorial skills, MedComms fundamentals, client expectations, SOPs, and responsible AI-enabled delivery.
  • Curate and maintain a learning library.
  • Measure effectiveness (time to independence, quality indicators, feedback) and iterate the programme.

5. Stakeholder collaboration & influence

  • Align with account/delivery leads on upcoming work and ensure the pipeline is training-ready.
  • Champion quality, learning, and continuous improvement across the hub.

What Skills and Experience You Will Bring:

  • Postgraduate (or equivalent) degree in life sciences/medicine/healthcare.
  • 8+ years medical writing and/or editorial experience (MedComms agency or Medical Affairs preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of MedComms deliverables and quality expectations (e.g., publications, slide decks, medical education).
  • Demonstrated training/coaching capability (workshops, onboarding, mentoring).
  • Ability to translate complex scientific/editorial concepts into clear, usable guidance.
  • Confident facilitation skills; credibility to influence senior writers/editors and delivery leads.
  • Comfortable with SOPs, style guides, and quality systems; data-driven mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in MS Office; comfortable adopting new tools, including AI-assisted writing workflows.

Additional preferred attributes

  • Training/adult learning/instructional design/OD certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience building structured onboarding or capability programmes in a fast-growing team.
  • Exposure to B2B service delivery models and global agency clients (offshore/near-shore a plus).
  • Comfort using metrics to demonstrate training impact (e.g. QC outcomes, ramp-up time).
