Why does this job exist and why is it critical

Internal Assurance (IA) is an independent appraisal function providing an assurance service to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) in partnership with senior management. It assists the ARC to discharge its responsibilities with respect to governance, risk management and control. IA is designed to add value by improving the operations and supporting the achievement of business objectives.

This role is for a researcher who's doing a practical PhD on IA by studying Maxis IA as a case study.

What do you need to have for this role

  • Formal Education: MBA/ Master/ Bachelor of Accounting and Finance or related discipline
  • Desirable: CIA, ACCA, CPA, CISA
  • Total Work Experience and Relevant Work Experience required: 7 to 10 years in internal audit / advisory/ Finance / Telco
  • Deliver audit/ advisory assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Build working relationships.
  • Demonstrate high levels of personal integrity and independence.
  • Communication, presentation, and report writing skills with the ability to deliver areas of concern to fit into the needs and expectations of the business objectives.
  • Project and time management skills, including priority setting.
  • Telco experience
  • Analytical skills to reach well supported and balanced judgements.
