Act as the Resident Competent Electrical Engineer (JEK) responsible for the safe operation, maintenance and statutory compliance of the 132kV substation, transmission system and grid interconnection facilities.
Lead all 132kV switching operations, Permit-to-Work (PTW), isolation, energisation and commissioning activities in compliance with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), TNB Grid Code and company procedures.
Plan, supervise and review preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance for transformers, GIS/AIS switchgear, protection relays, SCADA, transmission lines and associated high-voltage equipment.
Coordinate with TNB, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, OEMs, EPC contractors and consultants on grid outages, statutory inspections, compliance audits, testing and commissioning activities.
Conduct fault investigations, protection relay analysis and root cause analysis to maximise plant reliability, availability and operational performance.
Ensure full compliance with the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994, Grid Code, HSE requirements and maintain all statutory records, technical reports and engineering documentation.
Provide technical leadership, supervision and competency development to Chargemen, Electrical Engineers, Technicians and contractors while driving continuous improvement in electrical safety and asset reliability.
Job Requirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering recognised by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
Registered Professional Engineer (Ir.) with BEM is preferred.
Registered Resident Jurutera Elektrik Kompeten (JEK) (132kV or above) with Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST).
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in high-voltage power systems, with at least 3 years managing 132kV substations, grid interconnection or utility-scale renewable energy facilities.
Hands-on experience in 132kV switching operations, protection systems, SCADA, testing & commissioning, grid compliance and transmission asset maintenance.
Sound knowledge of the Electricity Supply Act 1990, Electricity Regulations 1994, ST requirements, TNB Grid Code, and HSE best practices.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with TNB, ST, consultants, contractors and project stakeholders.
