Description

Primary Objective:
  1. To conduct risk survey and provide risk improvement measures to control and minimize the risk of future claims.
  2. To conduct survey on specialize risk inclusive but not limited to LSR risk and Engineering risk
  3. To manage the progress of Risk Improvement Measurements of the entire property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for conducting risk survey for new and renewals business in accordance to the Underwriting/ Risk Survey Guidelines, Authority limits and Compliance to regulatory bodies guidelines .
  • Collate and assess risk information on site.
  • Use templates/ risk survey forms to record assessments and collect photographic evidence
  • Prepare detailed reports and from the report Underwriters shall be able to decide on the rate and other terms for the Insured according to the Company's guideline.
  • Provide recommendations to underwriters about required improvements.
  • Provide other necessary risk assessments such as PML computation and rating worksheet.
  • Accompany underwriters on site visits to help them understand the practicalities of the site.
  • Keep up to date with technical aspects affecting risks, e.g. trade processes, legislation and hazardous materials.
  • Supervise the performance of subordinates, ensure the subordinates awareness of the team goals and business plan and assist in managing resources across the team.
  • Supervise the Unit Risk Survey activities and ensure full compliance to the procedures, guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Providing technical coaching to subordinates, Business Units and Branches.
  • Contribute and participate in Department meeting to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
  • Develop the business and maintain the professional reputation of the company with brokers and clients.
Requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree - Diploma or Degree or Professional qualification in Engineering or any other relevant discipline..

Minimum 7-9years working experience in general insurance underwriting.

  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated, positive working attitude and capable of working independently.
  • Capable to complete the tasks within the expected timeframe.
