About Mech-Mind Robotics
Mech-Mind Robotics is a global leader in industrial 3D vision and AI-powered robotics software. Our technology enables manufacturers, logistics providers, and automation integrators to deploy intelligent robotic systems that see, decide, and act with precision. With a rapidly growing footprint in Southeast Asia, we are expanding our regional leadership team to capture the significant automation demand across Malaysia and Singapore within semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, automotive, and precision engineering sectors.
Position Summary
Sales Manager, Malaysia is a full-cycle enterprise sales role for a technically fluent, market-savvy professional who thrives on building business from the ground up. You can be based in either Penang or Kuala Lumpur with flexibility for remote customer engagement and regular cross-border travel to Singapore. You will own the complete sales lifecycle — from strategic territory planning and cold prospecting to technical solution design, negotiation, and deal closure — covering both Malaysia and Singapore across semiconductor fabrication and packaging, electronics manufacturing (EMS/PCBA), automotive Tier 1/Tier 2, home appliance, and precision engineering sectors, including OEMs, ODMs, and leading automation integrators.
This is not a maintenance role. You will be expected to open new accounts in both markets, win competitive evaluations against established global players, and establish Mech-Mind as the preferred 3D vision partner across two of Southeast Asia's most advanced industrial ecosystems. High performers will have the opportunity to shape regional strategy and build a local team as both territories scale.
What You'll Do
- Own the Territory: Strategically plan and execute sales activities across Malaysia and Singapore. Within Malaysia, your primary focus covers Northern Malaysia (Penang, Kulim, Batu Kawan), Central Malaysia (Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam), with periodic coverage of Southern Malaysia (Johor, Iskandar Puteri). You will also be fully responsible for end-to-end business development throughout Singapore's advanced manufacturing industries. Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure to achieve aggressive dual-country regional growth targets.
- Hunt & Land Key Accounts: Independently prospect, qualify, and close new business with semiconductor leaders, electronics manufacturing giants, automotive Tier 1/Tier 2 suppliers, home appliance brands, precision engineering firms, OEMs, ODMs, and automation integrators across Malaysia and Singapore — with minimal supervision.
- Be the Technical Trusted Advisor: Engage directly with Engineering, Operations, Quality Assurance, and Plant Management to understand automation challenges, architect customer-specific 3D vision and AI robotics solutions — including wafer inspection, die bonding guidance, SMT/PCBA AOI, precision assembly, robotic bin picking, and logistics sorting — and articulate clear ROI.
- Drive High-Value Inspection Solutions: Identify high-volume 3D inspection and inline metrology opportunities in semiconductor packaging, electronics assembly, and precision component manufacturing, where micron-level accuracy, throughput optimization, and zero-defect delivery are critical KPIs.
- Drive Account Expansion: Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts in both Malaysia and Singapore; identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities across multiple plants and product lines, ensure retention, and nurture long-term strategic partnerships.
- Align Internal Resources: Collaborate closely with internal engineering, applications, and support teams to scope, prototype, and deliver solutions that win technical evaluations against incumbent global vision providers.
- Read the Market: Continuously monitor industrial trends, semiconductor supply chain shifts, electronics manufacturing dynamics, EV and automotive developments, and competitor movements in Malaysia and Singapore to uncover whitespace opportunities and preempt regional business risks.
- Represent the Brand: Lead regional presence at trade shows, industry events, and customer-facing activities — including Penang's semiconductor ecosystem gatherings, KL/Selangor industrial automation events, as well as advanced manufacturing exhibitions and tech summits held in Singapore — to build brand authority and generate qualified sales pipeline across both territories.
- Work from Penang or Kuala Lumpur: You can choose to be based at our regional hub in either Penang or Kuala Lumpur to ensure strong local market presence, rapid customer response, convenient cross-border travel to Singapore, and effective coordination with headquarters and regional partners.
- Build for Scale: Provide structured feedback to global leadership on market signals, pricing dynamics, competitive landscape, and product-market fit across Malaysia and Singapore to inform broader ASEAN regional strategy.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Technology, Computer Science, Semiconductor Technology, or a related technical field — you understand how automation and inspection systems work at a component and process level.
- 5+ years of full-cycle sales experience in industrial automation, machine vision, robotics, semiconductor equipment, or closely related industrial technologies, with a demonstrable track record of new business development (not just account maintenance). Prior cross-border sales experience covering Malaysia and Singapore, as well as experience in semiconductor, electronics assembly (SMT/PCBA), or precision manufacturing is highly preferred.
- Proven ability to prospect and close independently in mature, competitive Southeast Asian markets — you are comfortable with cold outreach, on-site technical presentations, and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder buying committees in multinational manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical fluency in automation, machine vision, and precision inspection solutions; you can hold your own in discussions with process engineers and quality managers, and translate technical capabilities into measurable yield improvement and cost reduction.
- Highly self-motivated, target-driven, and energized by ambiguity — you perform best when you're building something, not inheriting it. You are competitive by nature and undeterred by well-entrenched incumbents.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills in English; ability to operate seamlessly across Malaysian, Singaporean industrial cultures and global corporate standards. Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a strong plus, given the significant presence of Chinese and Taiwanese semiconductor and electronics manufacturers across Penang, Kulim, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Bahasa Malaysia proficiency is a bonus.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout Malaysia (Penang, Selangor, Johor industrial zones), regularly cross-border to Singapore for client visits and industry events, plus occasional trips to headquarters or customer sites across the Asia-Pacific.
What Makes This Role Unique
- You'll own two high-potential strategic markets instead of a single territory — Malaysia is a priority growth region with strong demand from semiconductor and electronics manufacturers, while Singapore offers abundant high-end opportunities in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor packaging and EV industries. Together these two markets form a core growth pillar for our ASEAN business.
- You'll sell technology that wins on merit — cutting-edge 3D vision and AI robotics with demonstrable technical differentiation against legacy 2D vision providers, not commodity hardware.
- You'll build the playbook — this is an early-stage regional buildout across two mature, high-value manufacturing markets; your client development and deal wins will define how Mech-Mind scales in Malaysia, Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.
- Direct line to global leadership — your market insights on semiconductor inspection trends, competitive positioning, cross-border pricing dynamics will shape our product roadmap, go-to-market strategy, and ASEAN investment decisions.
