Cognitive Consulting has spent almost a decade delivering robotic process automation (RPA) solutions across Malaysia's public and private sectors, and is expanding into agentic AI. We serve close to 30 clients, with a strong presence in the government sector.
About the role
We are looking for a Senior AI Developer to join our AI Centre of Excellence (AI COE), reporting to the AI COE Lead. You will own the technical architecture behind our AI-powered automation solutions, lead their evolution into standardized, scalable products, and mentor team members as they grow their skills.
What you'll do
- Own the technical architecture behind our AI automation products, leading efforts to convert bespoke, project-based builds into standardized, reusable solutions.
- Lead proof-of-concept and research initiatives that inform the direction of future AI capabilities.
- Mentor team members, supporting their development and growth.
- Establish and uphold quality and reliability standards across delivered solutions.
What we're looking for
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, or prompt engineering.
- Multi-LLM orchestration experience (not limited to a single vendor), RAG backed by a proper vector store, and experience with prompt governance and guardrails.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-evolving, dynamic environment.
- Strong self-direction and ownership of assigned work.
- Sound technical judgment, including the confidence to raise concerns and push back when needed.
- A continuous learner, comfortable adapting as technology and responsibilities evolve.
- Willingness to take on cross-functional responsibilities beyond a narrow job description.
A plus, not required
- A cloud certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with government API/identity integration standards, such as MyGDX or MyDigital ID SSO.
- Experience with conversational AI or voice technologies (chatbots, voicebots, ASR/TTS).
- Understanding of public-sector administrative processes and/or accounting/financial workflows is an advantage.
