Senior Cloud Engineer

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to drive the delivery and evolution of our IT cloud Infrastructure services based in Azure.

The role is responsible for cloud engineering operations, driving infrastructure transformation initiatives, managing cost optimisation programmes, and overseeing both project delivery and business-as-usual (BAU) activities across the organisation.

This role combines technical leadership, strategic delivery, with a strong emphasis on cloud migration, platform modernisation, and operational efficiency.

Working alongside our existing teams in EMEA and LATAM, the role helps us establish an Infrastructure capability in APAC to help support our Global Business.

This role is offered as a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Management

• Drive adoption of modern cloud practices such as infrastructure automation and infrastructure-as-code approaches (e.g. Terraform, Bicep).
• Deliver Cloud infrastructure services, with particular focus on:
• Drive modern Microsoft Azure delivery and maintain legacy Azure VMs, App services and functions
• Azure networking (FrontDoor, VNets, Private Endpoints, VPNs, connectivity), and hybrid connectivity
• Azure Database: SQL, Cosmos
• Azure Management: ARM, Bicep, Azure monitor and log analytics
• Azure resilience and DR (including ASR, Azure Backup)
• Provide hands-on technical support across the end-to-end project lifecycle (discovery, workshops, design, build, test, implementation, and deployment), ensuring secure, high-quality outcomes and predictable delivery
• Be accountable for technical quality and governance on Infrastructure workstreams, working with SMEs/architects to ensure designs are reviewed, risks are understood, and solutions meet security, compliance, and operational requirements
• Stay updated on the latest trends, features and updates, and share your knowledge and insights with the team and the community

2. Cost Optimisation & Efficiency

• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across infrastructure and cloud platforms, including resizing resources and optimising storage tiers.
• Maintain visibility and tracking of cost-saving activities to contribute to overall financial efficiency.
• Support decommissioning programmes to reduce technical debt and ongoing operational costs.

3. Project Delivery & Transformation

• Manage and deliver complex infrastructure projects.
• Ensure multiple workstreams are managed concurrently and delivered efficiently.

4. Operational Management (BAU)

• Oversee day-to-day infrastructure operations including:
• Ongoing support for development teams and Application support for business platforms
• Monitoring, maintenance, and incident management,
• Ensure effective ticket management and regular status updates across all active work items

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting

• Provide regular updates to senior leadership on team achievements, incidents, and key initiatives (e.g. weekly reporting).
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders including to align delivery with strategic objectives.
• Translate technical activities into clear business outcomes for leadership reporting.
• Carry out Ad Hoc duties and tasks that are allocated to you at the discretion of management and that are within your capabilities and within the scope of your post.

• Outbound migration of Infra due to divestment.

• Delivery of concurrent infrastructure and platform projects
• Clear and consistent reporting of achievements and performance

Required Skills

Substantial hands-on experience with:

• Cloud platforms (Azure essential other platforms exposure preferred)
• Infrastructure transformation and migration
• Cost optimisation and financial awareness
• Active Directory, DNS, Networking and identity management
• Automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Cross-team collaboration and stakeholder management
• Operational oversight and incident management

In addition to:

• Relevant professional certifications
• Experience working in an international MNC environment
• Proven track record of delivering excellence in a hybrid or remote working environment
