About the Role
We are looking for a visionary Senior Digital Designer (UI/UX) to join our team. We are not looking for someone to build clean, modern, block-based templates. We are looking for a designer capable of shattering digital conventions and crafting revolutionary web interfaces that feel like living art.
Reporting directly to the Director, you will challenge standard UX/UI orthodoxies, deploying advanced typographic systems and radical layout methodologies to create unforgettable digital experiences. From high-concept eCommerce ecosystems to immersive portfolio worlds, your work will define the next frontier of web aesthetic precision.
Work Set-up: 100% Work from home
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST (6:00 AM to 3:00 PM PH Time)
What you'll do
- Revolutionary Concept & Interface Design: Move past safe, standard grids. Develop radical layout concepts and boundary-pushing web interfaces that challenge user expectations while maintaining flawless, intuitive interaction.
- Advanced Typographic Expression: Treat typography as a core structural and emotional driver. Experiment with fluid, responsive typography, custom font behaviors, variable font technologies, and expressive typesetting that elevates content into a visceral visual experience.
- Immersive Visual Experiences: Reimagine user flows and digital environments. Craft bespoke micro-interactions, motion behaviors, and spatial layouts that turn passive browsing into active exploration.
- Development Synergy: Partner intensely with our engineering team to ensure your radical visions are technically viable. Push the limits of front-end capabilities, advocating for precise motion, layout fluidity, and rendering accuracy.
- Continuous Avant-Garde Research: Actively track and experiment with the bleeding edge of global design movements, digital art, subcultures, and software to ensure New Territory is always driving the cultural conversation rather than reacting to it.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
- A Striking Portfolio: A body of work that proves you don't play it safe. We want to see complex layouts, expressive type, flawless motion, and interfaces that feel genuinely ahead of their time.
- Mastery of the Craft: Complete fluency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, paired with a deep understanding of layout, spatial rhythm, and color theory.
- A Typographic Critic: A profound understanding of typography—font pairing, tracking/kerning nuance, variable fonts, and the historical and cultural context of letterforms.
- Conceptual Fearlessness: A desire to break standard UI kits and template-driven design patterns in favor of bespoke, narrative-driven interfaces.
- Strong Collaborative Voice: The ability to clearly articulate your radical design choices to internal teams and clients, grounding abstract artistic concepts in clear strategic goals.
Nice to Have
- AI-Enhanced Workflows: Exposure to, or strong curiosity about, leveraging generative AI tools as assistive partners in the design process—supporting rapid ideation, concept exploration, and multimedia enhancement. While not a non-negotiable requirement, candidates should be comfortable integrating AI into their creative workflow using a variety of tools. Experience with or exposure to any of the following is an advantage:
- Image & Asset Generation: Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, or Runway.
- 3D & Spatial Exploration: Luma Labs.
- Interface & Process Integration: Figma Weave or advanced node-based generative workflows (e.g., ComfyUI).
