The Senior Director, Media Operations is a key leadership role responsible for leading the media operations organization and overseeing operational quality and efficiency across the full post-production scope. This position reports to the VP of Media Operations, and is responsible for stably leading a distributed organization operating across multiple countries and time zones. The role collaborates with studio- and streaming-platform-level clients and, serving as the Key Operational Contact managing critical operational issues. We are looking for more than an operations manager, a strategic operations leader who understands technology change and automation in a global media operations environment, and who can contribute to workflow improvement and new business expansion.
Responsibilities:-
- Manage the operations organization across the full post-production scope, including Mastering, QC, Delivery, Packaging, and Audio
- Manage the performance, quality, scheduling, resources, and operational efficiency of the Malaysia-based media operations organization
- Standardize media operations processes across multiple countries and multiple sites
- Manage collaboration structures across teams distributed over multiple countries and time zones
- Develop, coach, and manage the performance of Director- and Manager-level leaders, and strengthen organizational operating capabilities
- Collaborate with studio- and streaming-platform-level clients, managing key operational issues and communications
- Serve as the client's Key Operational Contact, responding to project and service operations issues
- Identify operational improvement opportunities leveraging workflow tools, automation, and media technology platforms
- Participate in workflow automation decisions, and evaluate the suitability and operational impact of technical options
- Contribute from an operational perspective to new business development, client pitching, and client expansion opportunities
- Partner with global leadership and internal stakeholders to shape operations strategy, resource planning, and service quality improvement
- Proactively identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and quality issues, and implement improvement measures
- Drive process enhancement, efficiency, and automation tailored to the Korean and global media operations environment
Experience & Qualifications:-
- 5+ years of senior leadership experience (Director level or above) in a media operations environment.
- Proven track record leading distributed teams across multiple countries, sites, and time zones, including developing Director- and Manager-level leaders.
- Experience operating within a global organization reporting to overseas leadership.
- Deep operational expertise across the post-production lifecycle, with direct experience managing or overseeing Mixing and Audio teams.
- Experience serving as a Key Operational Contact for global studios or major OTT/streaming platforms.
- Hands-on experience supporting new business development, client pitching, and account expansion.
- Ability to connect client requirements with operational feasibility to build realistic execution plans.
- Strong understanding of media tech platforms, workflow automation concepts, and media orchestration tools.
- Experience leading or serving as a core member in process standardization and operational optimization initiatives.
- Practical ability to evaluate and assess how automation impacts daily media workflows (architect-level expertise not required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with SDVI Rally or a comparable media orchestration platform.
- Previous operational collaboration with major global studios or streaming platforms.
Location & Language
- Able to work in Malaysia
- Fluent in English: business-level or higher English communication is essential
- Able to collaborate smoothly in English with overseas leadership, global teams, and multi-country stakeholders
