Job Description

Job Purpose

The role of a Senior Executive of Debt Markets is to support the Debt Markets Department (Debt Markets) in delivering value add advisory and structuring solutions to clients/customers across Debt Markets product areas such as bridging financing (via Islamic term financing facility and/or conventional loan facility), bank guarantee facility (via Islamic and/or conventional principle), syndicated term loan/ financing and issuance of corporate bonds/Sukuk, as well as debt restructuring exercises. The primary responsibility is to support the Team Lead/Director/Deputy Director of Debt Markets, where required, to identify, originate, develop, and structure investment banking solutions for clients/customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Team Lead/Director/Deputy Director in the preparation of information requisition list, conducting internal credit risk rating (ICRR)/know-your-customer (KYC) and conflict-of-interest (COI) checks, CCRIS checks/update, drafting deal clearance memorandum, drafting of credit proposals/presentation materials to credit committee, drafting of submission documents to the regulators including replying the queries from the regulators, reviewing documents including legal documents, attending to disbursement of financing and/or issuance of sukuk/bond, etc and perform such other functions as may be necessary and required for execution of Debt Markets transactions.
  • Liaise with risk team on the queries relating to the credit proposals and present to the credit committee.
  • Assist the Team Lead/Director/Deputy Director in the preparation of pitch proposals, mandates, structuring of principal terms and conditions related to Debt Markets transactions and review/assess the financial model/cashflow projections taking into account client's financing and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the Team Lead/Director/Deputy Director in doing the necessary research for any transactions.
  • Assist the Team Lead/Director/Deputy Director in monitoring any conditions, approvals, deadlines, etc for their respective portfolios including collection activities and keeping informed of the client's financial health, news and status/ progress of the work/transactions.
  • Organize and maintain proper documentation, records and filing of working files (hard copies and soft copies).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Capital Markets and Services Representative's License (CMSRL) from the Securities Commission and Credit Certification from the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) or equivalent will have an added advantage.

Minimum Years of Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience
  • Experience in Investment Banking, Debt Capital Market, Structured Finance, Project Finance, Corporate Banking, Islamic Debt Capital Market, Loans Syndication, Credit Rating, Audit or related field.
  • Basic credit analysis skills and financial modelling.
