Job Description

Job Summary:

Lead, plan and drive Asset Management key goals and activities for the Group power assets in RE segments, focusing on commercial and contract related matters, in supporting the functions of the Chief Operating Officer, Renewable Energy and the Group Chief Operating Officer of the Company in order to maximise the Company's shareholder returns.

Job Responsibilities:

Contract Management

(a) Lead the review of key contracts for power plant assets including PPA, O&M agreements, equipment warranties, and maintenance service contracts in collaboration with the respective Head of Operations to ensure alignment with operational goals, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

(b) Participate, lead and, strategize in contract negotiations to ensure the Company's interests are well protected in closing contract deals in a fair manner together with Procurement department.

Regulatory Compliance

(a) Oversee the operationalisation and compliance of commercial terms in the agreements, and monitor the power plant assets adherence to environmental regulations, safety standards, and legal requirements governing plant operations at the Group level through regular operational meetings with the respective plants.

(b) Resolve compliance issues with relevant authorities working closely with the Head of Operation of the plant asset in order to avoid any business operation risks and reputational damage.

Insurance and Claim Management

(a) Oversee the timely renewal of insurance policies and ensure alignment with PPA and financing document requirements, as well as optimize insurance management for both RE and non-RE segments by securing competitive premiums and comprehensive coverage.

(b) Manage insurance claims in coordination with the Head of Operations, including incident notification, timely submission of claims, and follow-up with insurers to ensure efficient claim processing and prompt, equitable receipt of insurance proceeds.

Risk Management

(a) Together with Head of Operation in RE plants, assess and mitigate risks associated with plant operations including HSSE protocols, business continuity plans, and emergency response plans. Review plants risk register jointly with Head of Operation to provide check and balance.

Stakeholder Management

(a) Act as a business partner to plants Head of Operations in keeping close engagement with the offtakers, C&I customers, local authorities, local communities, OEM, EPC contractors, and vendors or suppliers to foster strong relationship and support system for the benefit of the plant operations and Company's business in general.

Market Scanning and Intelligence

(a) Drive ongoing market scanning and intelligence gathering by monitoring industry trends and developments, particularly in regulatory frameworks and market design, across markets where operational RE segments are located, to ensure the Company's strategic positioning, risk mitigation, and long-term interests are effectively protected.

(b) Carry out monitoring of insurance market trends to support renewal reviews and ensure coverage remains competitive and aligned with the evolving risk landscape.

Continuous Improvement

(a) Drive continuous improvement by equipping Asset Management and O&M teams with a solid understanding of contractual obligations (e.g., PPA terms) and insurance frameworks, helping ensure operational decisions take into account both technical performance and commercial responsibilities.

Asset Lifecycle Management

(a) Facilitate in strategizing and planning for life extension of power plant assets equipment by equipment upgrades or retrofits to optimise the asset utilisation for PPA extensions.

Human Capital Development

(a) Develop and provide targeted training and knowledge-sharing sessions on key contract terms (e.g., PPA, O&M agreements) and insurance requirements as part of broader capacity-building initiatives, aimed at strengthening the commercial awareness and decision-making capabilities of operational teams. (b) Formulate and implement training needs analysis for own subordinate competency development in his/her roles and functions.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures

(a) Develop and maintain policies and procedures in respect of Asset Management functions for RE O&M

(b) Ensure plant policies and procedures addressing all main operational processes and business activities conducted within the plant premise are developed and maintained with periodic review meeting the ISO certification standards.

(c) Ensure record-keeping of plant policies, procedures and records including but not limited to operational reports, manuals, contracts and other documentation is efficiently performed, that documents owned are properly referenced, retrievable and appropriately maintained in the plants or in the Company's server, depending on type of the documents

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electrical/Mechanical or equivalent engineering field from an accredited university
  • Minimum 15 years of working experience in power generation sector.
  • Minimum 7 years experience in management position.
  • Power plant O&M best practices and asset management related skills
  • Power plant QHSE standards
  • Sound understanding of Electricity Supply Act (ESA)
  • Sound understanding of DOSH and local safety regulations for power plant operations
  • Proficient in electrical engineering fundamentals, operating principles of main medium voltage and high voltage electrical equipment and systems in a solar PV power plant and its substation, and technical know-how of operation and maintenance of these equipment and systems including inverter stations, transformers, switchgears, transmission lines and towers etc.
  • Knowledgeable in RE technologies including Grid-Connected PV installation, hydro power plants and wind plant technologies and its typical routine maintenance requirements.
  • Detailed understanding and practical experience in preventive/predictive maintenance of RE power plant equipment and systems, and other types of power plants in general.
  • Well-versed in maintenance management methodology (RCA and RCM), use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), and preventive/predictive (CBM) inspection tools.
