Senior Manager, Infection Control

Job Description

• Lead the hospital Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program to ensure patient, staff, and visitor safety.
• Oversee surveillance of Healthcare-Associated Infections (HCAI) and analyze infection trends for preventive action.
• Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures in compliance with MOH, WHO, CDC, and accreditation standards.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly HCAI surveillance reports to Infection Control Committee and clinical departments.
• Lead implementation of infection prevention bundles and hospital-wide infection reduction strategies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, nurses, and infectious disease specialists.
• Lead outbreak investigation, response, and containment, including contact tracing when required.
• Conduct Infection Control Risk Assessments for renovation and construction projects.
• Maintain infection control risk registers and implement mitigation strategies.
• Deliver infection control education and training programs for healthcare staff.
• Provide expert consultation on infection prevention practices across departments.
• Conduct infection control audits and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory standards.
• Lead environmental and microbiological surveillance and interpret findings for action.
• Drive quality improvement initiatives to reduce infection risks and improve patient safety outcomes.
• Support administrative and committee functions including reporting, documentation review, and meeting coordination.

Job Requirements

• Must be a Malaysian Citizen.
• MBBS or equivalent.
• Has valid Annual Practicing License and must be registered under Malaysian Medical Council.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of working experience in healthcare setting.
• At least up to 5 years in an increasingly responsible leadership role in Infection Control.
• Strong knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control principles, practices, and guidelines.
• Candidate with Asia Pacific Infection Control Certificate will be an added advantage.
