What You Will Do
- Own product vision and roadmap for core platform domainsLead the definition and evolution of key platform capabilities supporting airline distribution and B2B travel commerce. Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform sustainability.
- Act as the functional authority for complex workflowsDefine and document end-to-end product behavior across booking lifecycles. Cover search, pricing, booking, ticketing, cancellations, refunds, commissions, settlements, and operational edge cases.
- Work closely with architecture and engineering leadershipPartner deeply with the Principal Software Architect and engineering teams. Shape system boundaries, APIs, data flows, and sequencing of platform capabilities.
- Translate strategy into execution-ready requirementsConvert high-level business objectives into clear, prioritized product requirements and user journeys. Establish acceptance criteria suitable for high-risk transactional systems.
- Drive phased product evolutionSupport incremental delivery and controlled platform evolution. Ensure new capabilities are introduced safely without disrupting live operations.
- Balance commercial, operational, and technical needsWork with business, finance, and operations stakeholders. Ensure product decisions account for revenue impact, cost efficiency, operational risk, and regulatory considerations.
- Champion data-informed decision makingDefine success metrics beyond delivery (e.g., booking success rate, failure rates, refund SLAs, conversion impact).Use data to guide prioritization and trade-offs.
- Enable cross-functional alignment and buy-inClearly communicate product intent, priorities, and trade-offs to internal teams and selected external partners where appropriate.
- Stay informed on industry and market trendsTrack developments in airline technology, travel commerce, and platform models to inform product direction without chasing unnecessary complexity.
Your Experience
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Experience: 8+ years of overall experience, with at least 4â€5 years in a senior product management role.
- Platform Focus: Proven experience managing platform or system products rather than purely consumer-facing features.
- Technical Domain: Strong understanding of transactional systems, APIs, and service-based architectures. Experience working closely with software architects and engineers on complex technical products.
- Delivery & Analysis: Solid grasp of Agile delivery principles, backlog management, and phased delivery in high-risk environments. Strong analytical skills with the ability to reason about workflows, edge cases, and failure scenarios.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Strong Advantages: Experience in travel, airline systems, OTA platforms, payments, e-commerce, or fintech.
- Nice-to-Haves: Familiarity with experimentation, optimization , and metrics-driven improvement.
