About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Product Technologist to join our Group Technical team. This role is responsible for managing the technical and quality aspects of DFI's Own Brand Health & Beauty products throughout the product development lifecycle.
Working closely with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Design teams and external suppliers, you will ensure products meet the required quality, safety and regulatory standards while driving projects through to successful commercial launch. The role combines technical product expertise with strong project management and stakeholder management capabilities.
These responsibilities align with the role's purpose of implementing technical functions, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining product quality, safety and legality.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple product development projects concurrently, ensuring milestones and launch timelines are achieved.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Design and external suppliers throughout the product development process.
- Review technical documentation, product specifications, test reports and regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable regulations
- Coordinate product testing, technical evaluations and inspection activities to ensure products meet quality, safety and performance requirements.
- Evaluate product changes, technical upgrades and product improvement initiatives while ensuring appropriate approvals and documentation are completed.
- Support supplier qualification, factory assessments and supplier performance improvement initiatives to maintain product quality standards.
- Investigate customer complaints, product quality concerns and post-market technical issues, providing root cause analysis and appropriate corrective actions.
- Ensure all technical documentation, approvals and project records are maintained accurately and in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures.
- Build strong working relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers to facilitate effective project execution and issue resolution.
- Technical process implementation, product approval, testing coordination, complaint management and supplier development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Biomedical Science, Quality Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years experience in Product Technology, Quality Assurance, Product Development or Manufacturing within the cosmetics, skincare, personal care or health & beauty industry.
- Strong understanding of product development, quality management and manufacturing processes.
- Experience managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional stakeholders.
- Familiarity with cosmetic regulations, supplier management and factory audits (preferred).
- Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
