The Senior Sales Executive is responsible for developing new accounts and expanding existing ones within a set geographic territory, focusing on power automation and distribution. This role involves selling UL's products, systems, and services, with an emphasis on prospecting and direct sales to penetrate untapped markets in the P&C sector. The role requires a 70% focus on hunting for new business and 30% on farming existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Actively pursues prospects through various channels, including tradeshows, direct mail, advertising, cold-calling, industry contacts, and referrals.
- Engages with prospects to understand their decision-makers, criteria, and purchasing needs.
- Develops and leads sales presentations to secure new clients for UL's services.
- Focuses on high-profile and potential clients, presenting value propositions, handling objections, preparing quotes, and closing sales.
- Retains existing customers not managed by account teams and resolves a range of issues independently.
- Coaches and mentors junior staff on direct sales skills and processes, and assists in evaluating key customer information.
- Prefers a consultative or advisory approach to solution selling with a strong hunter mentality.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of relevant sales experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the ASEAN market for Power Automation/Power Distribution and related products.
- Established relationships with local government bodies or trade associations.
- Experience in enhancing UL's branding, including organizing large-scale seminars.
- Willingness to travel 30%-50% within Singapore, Malaysia & Vietnam regions.
