As a Senior Server Specialist, you will be responsible for third-level support of storage and backup systems, managing complex incidents, installations, upgrades, migrations, and ongoing maintenance. Leads capacity planning and performance optimization while providing technical leadership to team members and engaging key clients to ensure timely, effective changes and high customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do:
- Manage and resolve server and backup incidents, including security-related issues, in line with SLAs and ITIL practices.
- Perform incident analysis and root cause identification, implement permanent corrective and preventive actions, and configure systems.
- Carry out proactive preventive maintenance, housekeeping, and health checks to ensure server stability and performance.
- Execute regular server patching and security updates to maintain compliance and system integrity.
- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, and execution to ensure business continuity readiness.
- Analyse server infrastructure performance, capacity, and lifecycle, and provide recommendations for optimization and improvement.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Candidates possess at least with Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or any other IT related field.
- Minimum 7 years of working experience in IT / Server infra related field.
- Strong knowledge of server infrastructure and backup systems, with hands‑on experience in incident, change management, and patching activities.
- Hands-on third‑level support experience with VMware, ESXi, vCenter, and Microsoft Windows OS.
- Experience with file sharing, backup systems, monitoring, security monitoring, and AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Able to work on rotational schedule (8am – 5pm, 9am – 6pm and 11am – 8pm)
- Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage.
