Job Description

Expert Finance supervises Order to Cash (OTC) team and is responsible for executing and overseeing day-to-day activities within the Order to Cash (OTC) function, covering Accounts Receivable, Billing, Receipting/Cash Application, month-end Closing activities, and other specific accounting activities related to the stream and subfunctions with OTC function. This includes:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of client billing processes, receipting/cash application, dunning process and related financial transactions in accordance with defined SLAs/KPIs.
  • Managing and applying the appropriate group standards, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for leading the team to ensure quality delivery of services and in timely manner
  • Support collection by coordinating with clients and internal stakeholders on unapplied payment and reconciliation matters.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the finance function by leveraging SAP S4 HANA and other digital tools and drive global process initiatives to streamline and/or automate the OTC process

Job Responsibilities

  • Client Invoice Processing & Invoice Dispatch: Document, validate, post, and finalize client invoice in SAP S/4HANA, ensuring all invoices are supported by appropriate documentation and fully compliant with company policies, tax regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Ensure accurate and timely invoice generation in line with management-defined and locally agreed SLAs/KPIs, including intercompany Invoice and credit note processing. Dispatch invoices and all required supporting documents to clients in accordance with the client invoice rulebook and stipulated timelines.
  • Receipting/Cash Application: Obtain remittance advice for all incoming payments, including electronic remittances and cheque receipts, and apply client payments (cheques, bank transfers, and electronic payments) accurately and in a timely manner. Investigate, analyze, and resolve unidentified or unapplied cash items. Perform required journal entries, including foreign exchange adjustments, withholding tax (WHT), and other relevant accounting entries.
  • Month-End Closing, Collection & Escalation Management: Manage and oversee month-end Order-to-Cash (OTC) closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Prepare and distribute statements of account to clients promptly and accurately. Identify potential bad debts, prepare monthly accounts receivable (AR) reports, and review findings with local finance teams. Perform and review accounting entries as required. Manage and resolve escalations from clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring prompt resolution through detailed reconciliations and transaction analysis.
  • Leadership & People: Act as the first level of escalation to assist & guide team members to resolve the daily operation issues. Regularly track and resolve outstanding, escalate to OTC Manager if required.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to company policies, external regulations, accounting principles, SOPs, and Target Operating Model (TOM). Provide accurate AR reports, identify critical issues, report monthly open issues and drive resolution independently.
  • Drive Global Process Initiative: Ability to drive global system enhancements, UAT activities, system migrations, scope expansions, standardization projects, and data mapping/cleansing initiatives.
  • Team Knowledge Development: Guide and train new and existing team members through effective knowledge transfer, sharing of best practices, and ensuring continuity of service quality during transitions.
  • Quality Delivery Assurance: Review, request amendments where applicable, where necessary, and ensure submissions for approval meet agreed timelines. Troubleshoot issues, work closely with key contacts of local office and cross-functional organization toward resolutions and communicate risks promptly to management.
  • Audit Support: Provide required documentation and timely responses to internal and external audits queries.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement best practices and proactively identify and implement improvement opportunities to enhance process efficiency, productivity, and control.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with order management, Commercial team, finance team and other stakeholders to address and resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Transition Support: Assist in managing transitions, migrations, and process onboarding activities.
  • Other Duties: Carry out any additional tasks & responsibilities as assigned by the Manager.

Professional Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

Professional Qualification (ACCA/CPA/MIA etc.) is preferred.

  • 6–8 years of Accounts Receivable or Finance Operations Experience handling multiple countries.
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S4 HANA
  • Experience in shared services or corporate finance functions is an advantage.
  • Experience in project management is an added advantage

  • Proficiency in AR modules, Client invoice, and cash application.
  • Solid Knowledge of AR processes, provision, and reconciliations.
  • Ability to identify root causes and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Attention to details and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in transaction processing and documentation.
  • Proactive approach to resolving disputes, cash application issues and managing client expectations.
