Job Description



Responsibilities

  • As an Analog Hardware Design Engineer at Plexus Engineering Solutions (Penang Design Center), you will design and develop electronic hardware for products across a wide range of industries. This role collaborates with talented software, mechanical, quality, manufacturing and test engineers throughout all phases of the product development life cycle - from idea and conceptualize through requirements, design, and development to manufacturing transition and into the market.
  • Architect and design electronic analog circuitry for industrial, healthcare/life sciences, and aerospace/defense market sectors
  • Utilize schematic capture tools, define printed circuit board (PCB) constraints and layer stack up, and oversee PCB layout routing work.
  • Implement good design practices for Power Integrity and EMI mitigation
  • Analyze circuit designs with simulation tools
  • Take detailed measurements of hardware using standard electrical measurement tools including but not limited to oscilloscopes, multi-meters, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers to assess circuit performance and inform design improvements
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills in PCBA debugging/troubleshooting of typical issues encountered within the product development cycle
  • Collaborate with a team of other digital, analog, software, mechanical, and system engineers to review and improve hardware designs

Requirements:
  • Masters/Bachelor Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is required. Consideration will be given to candidates with other degrees that have E&E overlap - (e.g. biomedical / mechatronics engineering etc.) as long as strong experience/ background in electronics hardware design can be demonstrated.
  • Industry experience requirements vary for the position applied depending on the level applied for.
    • For Engineer I / II levels - 1 to 3 years of experience is required
    • For Senior Level - 5+ years of experience is required
    • For Staff Level 7+ years of experience is required
  • Experience in power supply design (DC-DC/AC-DC) and analog signal conditioning (filters/ADC/DAC)
  • Knowledge of good EMC design practices for board/system level designs as well as EMC test and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in RF/antenna design, impedance matching and implementation of WiFi/BT modules is an added advantage.
  • Experience with Power Integrity simulation and analysis (DC Drop, Decoupling Analysis, PDN Optimization) is an added advantage
