Senior Tooling Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead SMT fixture/tooling design for printing, reflow, wave solder and testing processes
• Drive end-to-end design: concept → 3D modeling → drawing → BOM → fabrication → validation
• Conduct DFM, tolerance analysis and cost optimization
• Troubleshoot production issues (e.g. soldering defects, warpage, misalignment) and drive improvements
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers and customers on tooling solutions
• Standardize design guidelines, drawings and technical documentation

Requirements

• Diploma or above in Mechanical / Automation / Mechatronics or related
• 5–10+ years SMT tooling/fixture design experience (EMS/PCBA preferred)
• Strong experience in:

SMT full process (printing → placement → reflow → wave → testing)

Fixture design (carrier, locating, clamping, anti-mistake, heat-resistant design)

• Proficient in:

AutoCAD (must)

SolidWorks + UG/Creo/CATIA (at least one advanced)

• Solid knowledge of:

PCB/PCBA materials (FR4, aluminum, synthetic stone, etc.)

Machining (CNC, milling, finishing)

IPC standards, DFM, tolerance and cost control

• Proven ability to:

Independently deliver full tooling projects

Lead projects and support junior engineers

Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
