Senior Windows and Virtualization Engineer
Job Description (JD)
5+ years of experience directly related to Windows System Administration Windows server 2008/2012/2016/2019 and Windows 10 Desktop support with increasing responsibilities administering client/server applications.
Expertise with Microsoft Windows Clustering and Active Directory administration, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, researching event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring.
Proficiency with VMWare - administrators should have considerable experience with vSphere/ESXI and vCenter.
Experience with the administration of window or ESXI systems with scripting and infrastructure automation software and procedures.
Experience with server hardware setup, configuration, support, and maintenance
Experience in the following areas: Patch Management, Anti-Virus, Symantec Endpoint/MacAfee, OS Upgrades
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with speed and efficiency
Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors
Communication and diplomatic skills a must; significant interaction with various segments of the program
Troubleshoot and resolve technical performance issues. Manage user accounts, group membership and GPOs for the AD domain.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. Multi-task effectively and efficiently to successfully perform assignments
SAN, NAS and Direct Attached Storage installation, configuration and support
Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors and monitoring system performance.
> 5 years of work experience administering VMWare/Windows Server Environments
> 3 years of configuring VMWare ESX/vCenter 6.5/ 6.7/ 7.0 and Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure.
> 3 years of experience administering SAN technologies.
> 3 years of experience with providing Tier 3 technical support to site administrators when integration issues arise.
Hands-on experience in a multitude of Microsoft products including, but not limited to; Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SAN storage experience or similar flash or tiered SAN technologies.
Microsoft and VMWare certifications.
Excellent written communication and presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills; basic project management course; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and database principles.
Experience with VMWare vSAN, and Virtual Desktop infrastructure (VDI)
Experience with Brocade and/or similar fiber SAN switch technologies.
.B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training
Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure
Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
