Job Responsibilities
- Install, commission, service and repair marine navigation, communication and fishery electronic equipment.
- Perform onboard troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Carry out sea trials, harbour tests and equipment commissioning.
- Support retrofit and upgrade projects.
- Attend vessels at ports, shipyards and offshore locations as assigned.
- Service and maintain equipment such as Radar, GPS/GNSS, AIS, ECDIS, Autopilot, Echo Sounder, Sonar, Fish Finder, VHF/MF/HF Radio, Satellite Communication Systems and VDR Systems.
Requirements (Skills / Knowledge)
- Able to read, understand and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics and work-related documentation .
- Possess strong analytical thinking, fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Good knowledge of marine electronic, navigation and communication systems.
- Familiar with ISO documentation requirements, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessment (RA) and Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Knowledge of computers, networking and electronic communication systems.
- Possess a positive working attitude, proactive mindset, and ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Good time management skills and ability to manage multiple assignments within deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with customers, shipyards and contractors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Willing to travel extensively and attend onboard service assignments within Malaysia and overseas when required.
Requirements (Education / Experience)
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5-7 years of relevant working experience in marine electronics, marine communication, navigation systems or related technical fields.
- Experience in installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of marine electronic equipment (e.g., Radar, GPS/GNSS, AIS, ECDIS, Autopilot, Echo Sounder, Sonar, Fish Finder, VHF/MF/HF Radio, Satellite Communication Systems, VDR and GMDSS).
- Experience working onboard fishing vessels, commercial vessels or offshore vessels will be an advantage.
- Possess a valid driving license .
