Role Description The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day site activities for power engineering and infrastructure projects, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and in line with technical specifications and quality standards. This contract, hybrid role involves regular on-site presence in Tanjung Manis Sarawak, for coordination with contractors, consultants, and clients, combined with some work-from-home tasks such as documentation, reporting, and design reviews. Key duties include supervising civil and structural works, monitoring progress, conducting site inspections, and assisting in resolving technical issues that arise during construction. The Site Engineer supports project managers with site reports, maintains accurate records of materials and work completed, and ensures compliance with relevant regulations and company procedures. The role also requires effective communication with stakeholders to coordinate work plans, clarify requirements, and facilitate smooth project execution.

Qualifications

  • On-site supervision and field coordination skills, with the ability to manage daily construction activities and interface with contractors and vendors.
  • Strong communication skills, including clear verbal and written reporting, stakeholder coordination, and the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Quality control and inspection capabilities, including monitoring workmanship, verifying materials, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and project specifications.
  • Structural engineering knowledge relevant to power and infrastructure projects, with the ability to interpret structural drawings and support technical resolutions.
  • Background in civil engineering; candidates with experience as Civil Engineers in infrastructure, utilities, or energy-related projects are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in relevant engineering software and standard office tools, with strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, and the ability to work both independently and in a hybrid work arrangement.
