Position Summary:
SMT Manufacturing Engineer responsible for all NPI (New Product Introduction) and Operation (High Volume Production) in Level 2 process engineering.
What You Will Do:
- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SMT equipment and assembly processes:
- Provide technical expertise in SMT equipment and process troubleshooting.
- Support daily production with process and quality issue resolution.
- Develop and qualify new manufacturing processes and equipment:
- Introduce and validate new equipment, tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Create and maintain Control Plans, PFMEA, and Work/Operating Instructions.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Manufacturing Process Validation (MPV).
- Optimize manufacturing equipment and processes:
- Set up and optimize SMT equipment recipes and process parameters.
- Ensure processes meet customer and internal quality requirements.
- Improve process capability, yield, UPH, and OEE.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve assembly yield and manufacturing efficiency.
- Apply statistical tools (SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R) using Minitab and JMP for process capability analysis.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions:
- Utilize 5 Whys and Fishbone Diagram methodologies.
- Develop and execute containment, corrective, and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors:
- Work with vendors to prepare jigs, fixtures, and stencils for NPI.
- Drive supplier manufacturing feasibility to meet customer requirements.
- Support customer and quality management activities:
- Participate in customer, ISO, and IATF audits.
- Present technical findings and project updates confidently to customers and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance and workplace safety:
- Adhere to environmental, health, safety, and security requirements.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
What You Will Bring (Required Qualifications):
- 3-5+ years managing process engineering team (AE and Tech) for support production.
Education (Minimum Level)
Field of Study
- Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related fields
Years of Experience (Minimum)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years working experience in PCBA and HLA assembly processes.
- Knowhow in PCB separation, routing, glue dispensing and developing poka yoke jig and fixture for HLA.
- Advanced problem solving skills and verbal communication skills.
- Good exposure to measurement machine such as Minitab (software), JMP (software), Nikon, Mitutoyo or MMS is an added advantage.
- Knowledge in PCBA design with DFM mindset.
