Sr. Iot Solution Architect

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop end-to-end IoT architecture including device layer, edge computing, connectivity, data ingestion, and cloud integration.

Define IoT solution blueprints aligned with business and enterprise IT strategies.

Lead the selection of IoT platforms, protocols, tools, and cloud services (AWS IoT, Azure IoT Hub, Google Cloud IoT).

Architect secure device-to-cloud communication using protocols such as MQTT, HTTP, CoAP, and AMQP.

Design scalable data pipelines for real-time and batch processing of IoT data.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud engineers, data engineers, application developers, and cybersecurity teams.

Implement edge computing strategies to optimize latency, bandwidth, and device performance.

Ensure security best practices including device authentication, encryption, identity management, and secure firmware updates.

Conduct architecture reviews, provide technical guidance, and enforce IoT design standards.

Work with vendors and third-party partners for device integration and platform interoperability.

Support proof-of-concepts (POCs) and pilot implementations for new IoT solutions.

Monitor system performance and optimize IoT infrastructure for scalability and cost efficiency.

Stay updated with emerging IoT technologies, frameworks, and industry trends.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.

Experience

8–12+ years of overall IT experience with at least 4–6 years in IoT solution architecture or related roles.

Proven experience in designing and deploying enterprise-scale IoT solutions.

Technical Skills

Strong expertise in IoT platforms such as AWS IoT Core, Azure IoT Hub, or Google Cloud IoT.

Experience with cloud computing (AWS / Azure / GCP), microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

Solid understanding of IoT protocols: MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, CoAP, AMQP.

Experience with edge computing, embedded systems, and device management.

Strong knowledge of data streaming and processing frameworks (Kafka, Spark, or similar).

Familiarity with databases (SQL/NoSQL, time-series databases like InfluxDB, DynamoDB, etc.).

Understanding of cybersecurity principles for IoT ecosystems.

Experience with API design, RESTful services, and system integration.
