Key Responsibilities
Storage Operations
- Provide operational support for storage infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and performance.
- Monitor storage and backup system performance and capacity using standard monitoring tools.
- Respond to alerts and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
- Perform routine health checks and maintenance activities on storage arrays and SAN environments.
- Handle backup restore requests from business users.
- Execute routine operational tasks and support storage-related activities under the guidance of senior engineers or managers.
Troubleshooting & Support
- Diagnose and resolve storage and backup-related issues, including SAN connectivity, disk failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Escalate complex technical issues to Level 2 support or management when required.
- Provide support to end-users and internal teams on storage provisioning, access management, and related requests.
Configuration & Implementation
- Assist in the configuration and deployment of storage arrays, SAN switches, and backup systems.
- Support implementation of storage changes in accordance with approved change management processes.
- Contribute to storage-related projects and infrastructure enhancements.
Compliance & Security
- Apply and maintain security policies, including access controls and system patching.
- Participate in vulnerability assessment and remediation activities.
- Ensure storage environments comply with organizational security and governance standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations, incidents, and change records.
- Update storage architecture diagrams, inventory lists, and operational procedures.
- Ensure all operational activities and changes are properly documented and tracked.
Technical Skills
- Storage technologies: SAN, NAS, RAID, LUNs, Fibre Channel.
- Backup and disaster recovery platforms and solutions.
- Storage performance tuning and capacity planning.
- Automation and scripting using Python and Ansible.

- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in storage and backup engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior technical role.
- Relevant certifications in Huawei, Dell, NetApp, HPE, or equivalent technologies.
- Knowledge of backup solutions such as Veritas, Commvault, and Veeam is preferred.
