About the role

The Supply Chain Compliance and Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company's supply chain operates in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, sustainability commitments, and responsible sourcing standards. This role requires extensive experience in buyer engagement and stakeholder collaboration to drive continuous improvement and maintain a resilient and sustainable supply chain.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage requirement of Customers/Buyer and other relevant stakeholders in meeting sustainability and responsible sourcing commitments such as NDPE, EUDR, Human Rights and others.
  • Support in engagement with the stakeholders on ESG matters (policy, partnerships, sustainability management, certification and compliance) including maintaining rapport with global brands/ customers, financial institutions, implementation partners, suppliers and non-profit organizations.
  • Develop, implement and monitor of sustainability targets, action plans and programs align with Apical's sustainability policy and Apical2030 to deliver company's sustainability commitments.
  • Manage and maintain a proper sustainability data management system related to amongst others, Traceability, Legality, No Deforestation, Peat and Exploitation Implementation Reporting Framework (NDPE IRF), Human Rights and environmental data.
  • Monitor and analyze developments in emerging ESG trends, legislations, technologies, and best practices for adaptation by Apical as well as provide recommendations at corporate and refinery level.
  • Support sustainability-related events, workshops, and training sessions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Coordinate, monitor and report on sustainability performance periodically.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Sustainability, or related discipline. A master's degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in supply chain management, sustainability, compliance, responsible sourcing, or stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain due diligence requirements and sustainability frameworks, including ESG principles, human rights, responsible sourcing, and relevant certification standards (e.g., ISPO, RSPO, ISO, ISCC and others ).
  • Demonstrated experience in suppliers and buyers engagement, capacity building, and implementation of compliance programs in palm oil industry is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant digital tools or supply chain management systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain traceability systems, risk assessment methodologies, and monitoring processes.
  • Knowledge of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies, certification , and Science-Based Targets (SBTi) principles is advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication, presentation and teamwork abilities
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal. Conversant in Bahasa Malaysia or Indonesia or Chinese is an added advantage
  • Willingness to travel and work across different time zones as required
