Support Engineer Azure / Python

Job summary:

Responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of Power BI dashboards and data models. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and standardize KPI metrics, ensure data accuracy and stable report refreshes, and participate in the daily monitoring and troubleshooting of data pipelines.

Key responsibilities

1、Report Development and Enhancement

Design, develop, and enhance Power BI dashboards independently, including visualization selection, filter configuration, and page interaction controls.

2、Data Modeling and DAX Development

Build and maintain semantic models, table relationships, and DAX measures, ensuring a well-structured data model and accurate business calculations.

3、Data Query Development

Develop Kusto (KQL) and SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, aggregation, and dataset preparation to support reporting requirements.

4、Metrics Definition and Business Alignment

Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify KPI definitions, content classification logic, and counting methodologies, translating business rules into implementable query logic.

5、Refresh Management and Troubleshooting

Investigate and resolve issues related to dataset refresh failures, visualization errors, and schema or field changes by identifying root causes and implementing fixes.

6、Data Pipeline Monitoring

Monitor ADF and data ingestion jobs, proactively identify and address operational issues through reruns or escalation, and develop monitoring dashboards when necessary.

7、Data Quality Validation

Perform reconciliation and sample-based verification across upstream and downstream systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

Required skills and qualification

1、Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

2、At least 2 years of hands-on Power BI experience, including expertise in DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and dashboard/report deployment.

3、Strong SQL skills with experience in data extraction, transformation, analysis, and query optimization.

4、Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders and translate business requirements into data solutions.

5、Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on data integrity, reporting accuracy, and continuous quality improvement.

Preferred qualification

1、Experience in Kusto (KQL) query development.

2、Familiarity with the Azure data ecosystem, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), Kusto, and related data services.

3、Experience in performance optimization for large-scale datasets and reports.

4、Hands-on experience in cross-system data reconciliation, validation, and root cause analysis.

6、Proficiency in written English preferred, with the ability to read technical documentation and communicate effectively with business stakeholders through day-to-day written correspondence.
