About the Job
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving the company's sustainability strategy, from framework development to execution, reporting, and recognition. You will work cross-functionally to embed sustainable practices across processes, projects, and community engagement. A key focus will be on developing a flagship sustainability initiative, overseeing annual non-financial reporting, and positioning the company for prestigious sustainability awards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with business goals and industry best practices
- Identify opportunities for sustainable improvements in operations, project lifecycles, and community outreach
- Establish metrics and evaluation methods to measure the impact and success of sustainability programs
- Create and lead a signature sustainability initiative that serves as the centerpiece of the company's ESG efforts
- Take ownership of the annual sustainability report, highlighting non-financial performance and progress
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather data and stories for award submissions related to sustainability achievements
- Research, shortlist, and submit entries for reputable local and international awards to enhance brand reputation
- Manage external partners, agencies, and vendors for project execution and reporting support
- Work with various departments to develop internal and external communications strategies that promote sustainability initiatives
- Stay current with evolving sustainability regulations and industry trends, and ensure company-wide compliance where needed
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on sustainability reporting
- MUST have background in property development or construction
- Proficient in GRI Reporting standards; familiarity with FTSE4Good is a plus
- Self-starter who thrives with minimal supervision and takes full ownership of deliverables
- Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Results-driven, resourceful, creative, and highly committed to meeting timelines and budgets
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Excellent written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia; proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage
