Teaching Assistant

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the classroom teacher by working with the students to support their social and emotional developments, and to support them in fulfilling their personal and academic goals.
• To assist the classroom teacher by being aware of what the teacher has planned for the day and the routines that they have has set up.
• To be observant enough to pick out any child who may need help and to check with the classroom teacher on measures to be taken to help him/ her.
• To help in the preparation of resources and to display children's work.
• To attend all staff briefings and be ready to attend staff training and professional development conducted in school.
• To take on supervisory duties outside the classroom when asked by the Head of Section/ Key Stage Leaders.
• To ensure safety and security of the students is of paramount importance.
• Keep the classroom conducive for learning.
• Enforce school and classroom rules/ agreements to encourage and promote positive behavior.
• Provide detailed and regular feedback to class teacher on pupils behavior and progress
• Supervise students during snacks, lunch, after-school care and home time.
• Ensure that students are engaged in learning and that they stay on task during lessons or activities.
• Respect diversity in pupils and colleagues, possess team-working ability and organizational skills.
• Be ready to step in to stand in for the class teacher during her temporary absence.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Candidate must possess at least a Primary/Secondary School/SPM/O Level certificate, in any field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• Good command of English Language - must be able to speak fluent English.
• Most recent work experience with an international school is preferred.
• Able to commence work in January 2024.
