Technical Support Executive

Technical Support Executive responsible to support technical service, formulation development and customer engagement activities, primarily for the Beauty & Personal Care and Home Care industries.

This role involves supporting formulations and prototypes development, conducting laboratory evaluations, providing technical assistance to customers, and supporting the sales team with product applications and technical presentations.

Main Accountabilities

Formulation Development and Technical Support

• Assist in developing personal care, toiletries, color cosmetic and home care formulations.
• Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies and consumer needs to develop relevant innovative concept and formulation.
• Respond promptly to technical enquiries received through sales team via email, whatsapp or etc.
• Coordinate with principals to obtain, verify and clarify technical product information.
• Provide technical support during customer visits, product presentations and formulation discussions when required.

Laboratory Operations and Documentation.

• Manage day-to-day operation, organization and housekeeping of the laboratory.
• Record all laboratory activities, formulation trials and finalised formulations accurately in the system.
• Maintain complete and traceable formulation records, test results and supporting technical documentation.
• Ensure laboratory equipment, materials and work areas are properly maintained and ready for use.

Product Quality Complaints

• Prepare and submit complaint reports to principals for product quality issues raised by Customer Service or the sales team.
• Coordinate the collection of relevant information, documents and samples required for complaint investigations.
• Follow up with principals and internal stakeholders until each complaint is properly addressed and closed.

Sales and Marketing Support

• Regularly update sales toolkits based on current market trends, new product launches and principals concept directions.
• Convert technical and marketing materials into clear, professional presentations for effective use by the sales team.
• Support product promotion activities, customer presentations, seminars and internal training.
• Facilitate technical communication, knowledge transfer and the sharing of best practices between the laboratory and sales teams.

Sample Management

• Coordinate the receipt, registration, storage and arrangement of incoming samples from all principals.
• Assist with the repacking and labelling of materials in accordance with established procedures.
• Review and support the effective implementation of sample-handling and repacking procedures.
• Provide operational coverage for the sample arrangement when required.

General Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the Technical, Sales, Customer Service and others teams to ensure timely completion of customer and internal requests.
• Perform other technical or operational duties assigned by the Technical Manager or management when required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant laboratory or formulation experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of cosmetic formulation, raw materials and laboratory testing is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office is an advantage.
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin is an advantage.
• Hands-on, organised, detail-oriented and interested in personal care innovation.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
• Willing to travel for customer visits, training and industry events when required.
