About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Writer Intern to join our content development team. In this role, you will help create, update, and maintain product and technical documentation that makes complex products and services easy to understand. You will work closely with developers, product managers, designers, solution architects, and experienced writers to produce clear, accurate, and user-friendly content.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in technology, content design, and user experience, and wants to build hands-on experience in technical communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in writing, editing, and maintaining product and technical documentation, including product guides, user manuals, API/SDK or developer documentation
- Organize and update existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and usability
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather technical information and translate it into user-friendly content
- Assist in developing and refining documentation templates and style guides
- Participate in documentation reviews and ensure content accuracy and completeness
- Support UX copywriting for product experiences, including labels, button text, helper text, prompts, empty states, error messages, and onboarding content
- Support content publishing workflows across documentation tools and CMS platforms
- Track feedback from users or internal stakeholders and continuously improve content quality
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Linguistic in English or Chinese, Chinese Literature, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related field
- Writing and Verbal communication proficiency in English
- Proficiency in Chinese is an added advantage
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail and a high bar for content quality and consistency
- Able to understand and simplify technical concepts for different audiences
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and collaborating across teams
- Strong learning ability and willingness to understand new tools, products, and workflows
- Interest in documentation, developer experience, product content, UX copywriting, or AI/technology communication
Preferred Skills
- Experience in writing documentation, tutorials, manuals, or structured content through coursework, internships, or personal projects
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, GitHub, or CMS platforms
- Basic understanding of software development concepts, APIs, SaaS products, or AI tools
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS or basic web technologies
- Experience with content operations, information architecture, or knowledge management
- Portfolio or writing samples demonstrating technical or analytical writing
