At Moxy, we believe great guest experiences happen behind the scenes too. We're looking for a hands-on, solution-oriented, and energetic Technician to join our Engineering Crew and help keep our hotel operating at its best.
As a Technician, you'll play a key role in maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, and guest rooms to ensure a safe, comfortable, and memorable experience for our guests. Whether responding to maintenance requests, performing preventive maintenance, or troubleshooting technical issues, you'll be an essential part of creating the Moxy experience.
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
- Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, systems, and facilities to ensure optimal performance.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, kitchen, and general building equipment.
- Carry out routine maintenance tasks including painting, drywall repair, woodwork touch-ups, light bulb replacement, and air-conditioning filter changes.
- Maintain hotel guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and external areas in excellent condition.
- Repair and maintain plumbing fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, appliances, televisions, internet devices, and other guestroom equipment.
- Monitor and maintain building utilities, equipment shut-off systems, and safety controls.
- Assist with landscaping maintenance and irrigation system repairs as required.
- Maintain engineering inventory and request parts, tools, and supplies when necessary.
- Accurately document maintenance activities and communicate ongoing issues to other shifts.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements and safe work practices.
- Support sustainability and energy conservation initiatives throughout the property.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, HVAC, carpentry, or general building maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a variety of hotel systems and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable using basic computer systems and maintenance management tools.
- Previous experience in hotel engineering, facilities maintenance, building services, or a related field is preferred.
