We are looking for a Transaction Monitoring Operations Specialist to support our growing Financial Crime Operations function.
Role Overview
The Transaction Monitoring Operations Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, review and investigation of transaction monitoring alerts across MetaComp's payment and digital asset activities.
You will investigate unusual transaction activity, document findings, escalate higher-risk cases and work closely with Compliance and AML teams to ensure effective financial crime controls.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys investigative work, transaction analysis and financial crime risk detection.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Monitoring
- Review and investigate transaction monitoring alerts generated by internal systems.
- Analyse customer transaction activity, account behaviour and historical patterns.
- Review transaction counterparties, payment flows and relevant customer information.
- Identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity.
- Conduct appropriate research and investigation to determine whether alerts can be closed or require escalation.
- Ensure all alert dispositions are supported by clear investigation rationale.
Case Investigation
- Conduct investigations into potentially suspicious customer and transaction activity.
- Analyse transaction patterns across multiple accounts, payment methods and wallets where relevant.
- Identify potential AML/CFT, fraud and other financial crime indicators.
- Escalate high-risk or suspicious cases to the TM Lead / Compliance team.
- Support the preparation of investigation summaries and supporting documentation.
- Maintain complete and accurate case records.
Digital Asset Monitoring
- Review cryptocurrency transaction activity and wallet movements where applicable.
- Identify unusual wallet behaviour and potential exposure to high-risk entities or jurisdictions.
- Support blockchain-related investigations using approved analytics tools.
- Identify potential indicators involving mixers, sanctioned entities, darknet exposure, scams or other high-risk activity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Law, Compliance or related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in transaction monitoring, AML, KYC, financial crime operations, fraud operations, payments operations or banking operations.
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking, digital assets or financial services preferred.
- Good understanding of AML/CFT concepts and transaction monitoring principles.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Ability to analyse large amounts of transaction and customer information.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good written English and ability to document investigations clearly.
- Comfortable working with case management and transaction monitoring systems.
- Able to work independently while escalating issues appropriately.
Preferred Qualifications
- CAMS, ICA or other AML/financial crime certification.
- Experience with MAS-regulated financial institutions.
- Experience in digital asset / crypto transaction monitoring.
- Familiarity with blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, TRM Labs or Elliptic.
- Experience with transaction monitoring platforms such as VisionX or similar systems.
- Experience with sanctions screening, fraud monitoring or suspicious transaction investigations.
