Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to oversee and manage the company's transportation operations, ensuring efficient fleet utilisation, timely deliveries, regulatory compliance, and high service standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing drivers, vehicles, transport schedules, costs, and overall day-to-day transport operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily transportation operations, including delivery schedules, route planning, vehicle allocation, and fleet utilisation.
- Lead and supervise drivers and transport personnel, including manpower planning, performance monitoring, training, and discipline.
- Ensure all deliveries and transportation activities are completed safely, efficiently, and within agreed timelines.
- Monitor vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, roadworthiness, inspections, insurance, and licensing requirements.
- Work closely with warehouse, logistics, sales, and customer service teams to coordinate delivery requirements and resolve operational issues.
- Monitor transportation costs, fuel consumption, overtime, vehicle utilisation, and other operating expenses.
- Develop and implement initiatives to improve route efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and maximise fleet productivity.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, road safety requirements, transportation regulations, and relevant legal requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in transport, fleet, logistics, or distribution operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of fleet management, route planning, delivery operations, and transportation processes.
- Experience managing drivers and transport teams.
- Good understanding of transportation safety, vehicle maintenance, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
