- Job Title : Vice President, GF C&BM - Capital Management
Job Purpose:
- Assist and support the implementation of capital management activities and ensure they are carried out in the most efficient and professional manner so as to meet team's deliverables
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a solid understanding of the key drivers impacting capital and the regulatory environment so to be able to contribute effectively to all the work assigned by the team.
- Strategize, lead and coordinate capital raising plans at Group and its key banking subsidiaries.
- Perform financial analysis, idea generation to support the team's deliverables and apply learned techniques professionally to achieve best results and at expected standards.
- Assist in conducting research and analyses on competitors and market, and preparing key competitive information related to capital to provide insights to the team.
- Assist in the monitoring and tracking of capital allocations, capital deployment and utilization and work closely with relevant internal functions or stakeholders to resolve any business concerns and data quality issues.
- Assist in developing policy, processes and tools for identifying, monitoring, measuring, analysing and reporting risks affecting all capital related matters through the provision of analytical and quantitative support.
- Provide support to the team in strategic projects, such as setting of capital targets, stress testing and assessing capital impacts and recovery plan.
- Constantly update oneself and be technically competent by keeping abreast of all internal and external changes and development in particular to capital related rules and regulations.
- Highlight to superior on any issues that have impact to the compliance with internal policies, process and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and maintain appropriate operational controls and seek advice/ direction from superior for immediate remediation or mitigation actions.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement initiatives in the team and across Group Finance
Key Dimensions of Impact:
- The job has a direct impact of guiding the key capital ratios for CIMB Group and its banking subsidiaries/branches in MY, SG, TH, ID, KH, VN, Phils, London, Shanghai and Hong Kong. It supports the strategic plan to improve Group's ROE and profitability from the deployment of capital across the region.
- Financial: Reporting and tracking performance of Exco Capital investments which contributes about materially to Group PBT.
- Non-financial: Need to work with voluminous data, data extraction and excel spreadsheets.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics or other quantitative discipline
Relevant Work Experience:
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in financial or investment institution
- Experience in bank capital management, asset management and financial analysis will be an added advantage
