Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Warehouse Manager to lead the end-to-end warehouse operations of PROTON Parts Centre. This role is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, cost-effective and timely receipt, storage, picking, packing and dispatch of automotive spare parts while achieving service, inventory and productivity targets.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership capabilities, sound warehouse and inventory-control experience, and the ability to manage a high-volume operation while working closely with Logistics, Parts Supply, Sales, Quality, Engineering, Finance and Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership and Service Delivery: Plan and oversee daily inbound, put-away, storage, picking, packing and outbound activities. Align manpower, equipment and priorities with order volume, delivery schedules and business requirements, and resolve operational abnormalities promptly.
  • Inventory Accuracy and Control: Maintain inventory integrity through cycle counts, stock takes, location control and discrepancy investigation. Reduce shortages, damages, mis-picks, ageing and obsolete stock through effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Manpower and Performance Management: Lead executives, supervisors, team leaders and operators; set clear targets, monitor attendance, overtime, discipline and productivity, and coach employees to close competency gaps and strengthen succession readiness.
  • Safety, Quality and Compliance: Ensure compliance with company procedures, 5S, occupational safety, environmental requirements and safe material-handling practices. Conduct inspections, support incident investigations and ensure racking, forklifts, equipment and PPE are properly maintained and used.
  • KPI Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Monitor inventory accuracy, on-time completion, order fulfilment, picking accuracy, damage rates, productivity and cost. Prepare management reports and lead Lean, Kaizen, layout, warehouse-system, digitalisation and automation improvements.
  • Cost and Resource Management: Prepare and control the warehouse operating budget, including overtime, contractors, equipment, maintenance and consumables. Optimise warehouse capacity, space and resources without compromising safety, quality or service levels.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Management: Coordinate with internal departments, transporters, contractors and suppliers to ensure smooth order fulfilment and customer support. Manage service issues, audit findings and vendor performance, and escalate material risks with clear recovery plans.

Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in warehouse, logistics or supply-chain operations, including at least 3 years in a managerial or senior leadership role.
  • Experience in the automotive, spare-parts, manufacturing or distribution industry is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, stock-taking, racking systems, material handling, workplace safety and operational risk management.
  • Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems, SAP or other ERP platforms, with strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint proficiency.
  • Proven leadership, manpower planning, performance management and employee-development capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving and continuous-improvement skills, with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities under pressure.
  • Willing to work at Glenmarie, Shah Alam and support peak operations outside normal working hours when required.
