Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Word Processing, Document Production, Legal Document Technician, or similar roles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, including styles and templates, Track Changes, automatic numbering, tables of contents, section breaks, headers and footers, and formatting controls
- Strong eye for formatting consistency, numbering accuracy, and document structure
- Experience handling lengthy and complex documents with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to identify and resolve inconsistencies in formatting, cross-references, and appendices
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documents under tight deadlines
- Experience in legal, professional services, or document production environments is highly regarded
- Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and PDF preparation is preferred
- Experience writing or maintaining internal style guides, templates, or process documentation is an advantage
- Relevant qualification in Business Administration, English, Communications, Office Administration, or related fields is preferred
Responsibilities
Document Formatting & Production
- Apply the correct report template to incoming expert witness reports
- Ensure consistent formatting across headings, fonts, spacing, styles, and layouts
- Correct numbering throughout sections, paragraphs, and cross-references
- Check appendix labeling, ordering, and alignment with report references
- Fix spelling, punctuation, and typographical errors
- Ensure tables, figures, page numbering, headers, and footers remain accurate and consistent
- Convert and prepare final documents in both Word and PDF formats for editorial handover
- Troubleshoot formatting issues in lengthy or complex documents
- Maintain version control and document accuracy across revisions
Internal Guide Development
- Develop and maintain in-house formatting guides documenting document standards and processes
- Capture step-by-step procedures for templates, numbering, appendices, and editorial preparation
- Update guides as standards evolve to support current and future team members
Collaboration & Administration
- Liaise with internal teams to meet turnaround deadlines
- Support daily operations through relevant administrative assistance as needed
