Job Summary

We are looking for a technically strong leader to head our ANZ region. The Lead Engineer will take ownership of regional delivery, technical solutioning, and team leadership, ensuring that all projects meet performance, scalability, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

1) Technical Leadership

Lead architecture and design decisions for regional implementations.
Act as the technical escalation point in ANZ, resolving complex engineering issues.
Support customer IT/security discussions in collaboration with global product/business teams.

2) Project Leadership

Oversee technical delivery of regional projects, ensuring quality and timelines are met.
Manage risks and dependencies, providing technical direction when needed.
Align technical deliverables with business priorities and global strategies.

3) People Leadership

Mentor engineers, fostering growth in both technical depth and delivery excellence.
Drive best practices in coding, testing, security, and deployment.
Build a culture of technical rigor and accountability.

4) Process Contribution

Contribute to refining processes for system design, deployment, and support.
Ensure local practices align with global standards and compliance requirements.
Suggest improvements for efficiency and scalability.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have:

8+ years in software engineering with at least 3+ years in a technical leadership role.
Strong hands-on experience designing and building distributed backend platforms and API ecosystems spanning service layer architecture, data persistence and system integration.
Proficient in modern object-oriented languages and frameworks (e.g., Java/ Spring Boot), relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgresSQL) and CI/CD driven delivery.
Knowledge of security and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS, MPoC, SPoC, OWASP).
Proven ability to lead teams while remaining hands-on technically.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-Have:

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Exposure to mobile or terminal payment solutions.
Experience supporting pre-sales technical discussions.
