Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, analysis, and coordination of structural works with a strong focus on steel and composite structures.
Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, and detailed drawings for steel structures.
Develop efficient and safe structural systems, including frames, trusses, platforms, and industrial structures.
Perform connection design and review fabrication and erection considerations.
Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and method statements for steel works.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, architectural, geotechnical, M&E) to ensure seamless design integration.
Provide technical support during construction, including site inspections and resolution of design-related issues.
Liaise with clients, consultants, fabricators, contractors, and authorities on structural and steel-related matters.
Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and optimisation to achieve cost-effective solutions.
Supervise, guide, and mentor junior engineers and structural designers.
Ensure all deliverables comply with relevant codes, standards, safety requirements, and project timelines.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree is an advantage.
Proficiency in Mandarin is required for this position to facilitate effective communication and coordination with Mandarin-speaking clients.
Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM);
Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, with strong exposure to steel structures.
In-depth knowledge of steel design codes and standards (e.g. BS, Eurocode, AISC).
Proficient in structural analysis and design software.
Good understanding of steel fabrication, erection, and constructability considerations.
Strong analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently and lead technical tasks across multiple projects.
Excellent communication and technical reporting skills.
