UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank's growth ambition. About the Role

The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management. It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today's tight and dynamic regulatory landscape. To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks. This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.

Primary Objective:

To oversee and manage the Investigation / Pre-STR Team who in-charge of conducting initial assessments of AML alerts and UARs, ensuring well‑informed decisions are made on whether alerts / UARs can be reasonably explained and closed as false positives or whether they require escalation and enhanced investigation by Country Compliance for further review and potential STR filing.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure the team conduct timely reviews of suspicious AML/CFT alerts and UARs generated from data analytics models, government subpoenas, search warrants and production orders issued by law enforcement authorities.
Ensure the team prepare and submit suspicious activity and transaction report to Country Compliance to support timely STR filing with the relevant local authorities.
Provide updates, guidance and support to business units and other AFC teams on matters arising from reviews and investigations.
Perform analytical assessments to identify emerging AML/CFT risk trends and support actions to enhance and strengthen Group AML/CFT controls.
Ensure the team adhere to proper documentation and record keeping of investigation report and all supporting documents of investigated alerts/cases in line with Group standards and requirements.
Provide inputs and support initiatives aimed at strengthening the GC AML Operations framework, policies and procedures.
Monitor and managed the team's KPIs and goals, inclusive of quality and productivity.
Undertake other ad-hoc tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Key Requirements:

Minimum degree in related field from reputable University
Minimum 10 - 12 years of experience in AML Intelligence/Investigation, Compliance or related field with strong understanding of AML, banking and financial services laws and regulations, compliance best practices and understanding of financial products and systems.
Strong Interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective people management skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Certification in AML/CFT (ICA/AICB/ACAMS/CFE)
