Job Description

Summary

The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for complex capital equipment. This includes resolving assembly and floor issues, improving product quality, and reducing lead times through advanced engineering methodologies.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design, develop, and implement new manufacturing processes and application software to support complex semiconductor customer products.
  • Implement plans to assess machine and process capability using DOE and statistical methods to ensure maximum throughput and minimum cost.
  • Lead the disciplined process for solving complex product or component problems that affect efficient operation across the full manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Initiate and lead assessments to provide feedback to product designers on the suitability of designs for efficient manufacturability.
  • Manage NPI by creating assembly procedures, documenting workflows, and implementing processes for new capital equipment.
  • Develop specialized tooling and fixtures as needed to support comprehensive mechanical process steps.
  • Provide technical training to production personnel and ensure all equipment is calibrated and certified according to corresponding quality procedures.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, recording, and archiving of measurement data pertaining to process control performance.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • Solid understanding of mechanical assembly, electromechanical systems, and complex machine integration.
  • Strong ability to analyze processes, determine gaps/inefficiencies, and apply statistical process control (SPC) for yield improvement.
  • Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems, CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex multistage products.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English for global team collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and ISO standards

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Typical Experience

  • Minimum 4-6 years of practical experience in manufacturing engineering, specifically with Capital Equipment or semiconductor products (e.g., Etch, Deposition, or Lithography tools).

Typical Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical/Electronic Engineering. A Diploma holder with 5 years of relevant experience may be considered.
