Purpose Of the Job:
Lead the design, launch, and scale of the Jameel Mobility Academy as a global capability-building platform and competitive advantage for ALJ and its dealer network, with a strong focus on AI-enabled auto retail and digital transformation. This is a brand-new initiative to improve the succession and strategy within the mobility structure moving forward.
Description:
- To design, establish, and lead a Global Mobility Academy based in China, focused on developing the next generation of young automotive professionals to support international expansion.
- The Academy will serve as a structured platform to attract, train, certify, and develop early-career talent across technical, EV, digital mobility, aftersales, and commercial functions.
- This position requires a senior automotive specialist with deep OEM experience and a strong Learning & Development background, capable of building an academy from the ground up with global reach.
- The role will act as the bridge between automotive expertise and global market capability needs, ensuring consistent standards, strong technical foundations, and future-ready skills.
- Build partnerships with universities, technical institutes, and automotive training centers to create a sustainable talent pipeline.
Major Activities:
- Define the strategy, vision, and operating model for the Jameel Mobility Academy.
- Design and deliver executive education programs for dealer principals, GMs, and senior retail leaders.
- Lead partnerships with top business schools, universities, and technology partners (China and globally).
- Shape a blended learning model (online, on-campus, in-dealership immersion) with clear business outcomes.
- Ensure programs are highly applied, linking learning to dealer KPIs (sales conversion, CX, aftersales, productivity, inventory, etc.).
- Curate content on AI, digital retail, data, governance, and leadership relevant to auto retail.
- Act as the external face of the Academy with partners, faculty, and senior stakeholders.
- Build governance, budget oversight, and success metrics for the Academy.
Qualification/Education, Experience, and Skills:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Education, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in the automotive industry, with at least 5 years in Learning & Development, Technical Training, or Academy management.
Minimum Experience:
- Strong experience within an automotive OEM or major automotive organization.
- Experience building graduate, apprentice, or young professional development programs preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working across international markets.
- Strong strategic vision with hands-on execution capability.
- Passion for youth development, mentoring, and long-term capability building.
Job-Specific Skills:
- Proven leadership in Learning & Development, Technical Training, or Corporate Academy establishment.
- Strong expertise in EV technology, smart mobility, connected vehicles, and aftersales operations.
