Key Responsibilities:
Management Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Be responsible for the accounting and financial matters of assigned companies.
- Perform month-end closing and prepare management and group accounts.
- Maintain general ledgers and perform journal entries, accruals, reclassifications and other accounting adjustments.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register, including monthly depreciation.
- Record and update provisions, financing costs, amortisation and allocated expenses from other departments.
- Assist in addressing internal and external audit queries and requests.
Accounts Payable
- Process Memorandum of Payment (MOP), including verification of supporting documents and recording of invoice and payment entries for assigned companies.
- Prepare and process Payment Vouchers (PV) for approval and payment.
- Maintain payment tracking records and coordinate with the Contract/Commercial Department on MOP matters.
- Monitor creditors ageing and reconcile suppliers statements of account.
Accounts Receivable
- Prepare invoices, debit notes and proforma invoices for project clients.
- Record accounts receivable based on approved billing documents.
- Monitor collections and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Monitor debtors ageing and reconcile debtors statements of account.
Treasury & Cash Management
- Monitor bank balances and update weekly cash flow forecasts, including updates following payments and collections.
- Gather information and prepare cash flow projections for future cash inflows and outflows.
- Prepare documentation for equity and financing utilisation, drawdowns and repayments.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain records and monitoring of cash placements and investment plans.
- Liaise with bank officers and relevant internal stakeholders on banking matters.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Update budget, forecast and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) figures for the annual budgeting exercise and management reporting.
- Monitor budget utilisation and actual expenditure against approved budgets.
Tax & Compliance
- Assist in preparing tax computations for tax provisions, revisions and estimates.
- Assist with tax filings, submissions and other related tax compliance matters.
Internal Control & Documentation
- Maintain proper filing, documentation and record retention in accordance with Company requirements.
- Ensure accounting records and supporting documents are properly maintained and readily available for reference and audit purposes.
- Assist with other administrative and operational matters of the Renewable Energy Finance team.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management from time to time.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a relevant professional qualification. Candidates with an ACCA qualification will have an added advantage.
- At least 3 years of working experience, preferably in the Renewable Energy industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software (SQL). IFCA & SAP added advantage.
- Self-motivated and proactive with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic working environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration.
