Position Overview

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales across ROSEA (excluding Singapore) and Malaysia for the Research & Safety Market division, covering chemicals, laboratory consumables, and scientific products.

This role requires strong sales experience in regional markets, proven account management capabilities, and the ability to support customers across academic, government, industrial, and healthcare segments.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive sales growth across ROSEA (excluding Singapore) and Malaysia
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets
  • Identify new business opportunities and expand market coverage
  • Conduct customer visits, presentations, and commercial negotiations
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting using CRM (e.g., Salesforce)

Account Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers and distributors
  • Develop account strategies to strengthen engagement and retention
  • Lead tender submissions, pricing discussions, and contract renewals
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and issue resolution

Territory & Market Management

  • Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities in ROSEA & Malaysia
  • Identify growth opportunities for chemicals, consumables, and laboratory products
  • Support distributor/channel partners to improve performance
  • Collaborate with regional teams for cross-border customer activities

Product & Application Support

  • Provide product knowledge and technical understanding of laboratory consumables, chemicals, and equipment
  • Work with suppliers and product specialists for demos, workshops, and trainings
  • Support marketing campaigns and customer events

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Customer Service, Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing
  • Share market insights with product management for portfolio decisions
  • Support demand planning and forecasting alignment

Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate CRM records and activity documentation
  • Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and business reviews
  • Comply with corporate policies, ethics, and EHS standards

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Science, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Technology, or a related scientific discipline
    Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in chemicals, laboratory consumables, or scientific products
  • Experience managing ROSEA markets such as Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, and Brunei
  • Proven success in meeting sales targets and growing regional markets
  • Experience in distributor/channel management is an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong account management and customer relationship skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Proficient in CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English Bahasa Malaysia required additional regional languages are beneficial

Other Requirements

  • Willingness to travel frequently within ROSEA and Malaysia
  • Based in Klang Valley with convenient access to regional routes
