About the Company
RushOwl is a fast-growing transportation startup headquartered in Singapore, redefining urban mobility with smart, eco-friendly, and on-demand transit solutions. We operate shuttle services, B2B staff and school transport, and vehicle leasing programs across Southeast Asia.
As we scale, we're seeking a highly capable Accountant Associate to join our lean but growing finance team and support financial operations across Singapore and Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Manage full sets of accounts (GL, AR, AP, bank reconciliation) for entities under RushOwl Group.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and supporting schedules.
- Assist in consolidation of group financial statements.
Compliance & Regulatory
- Ensure compliance with Singapore accounting standards (e.g. SFRS), statutory regulations, and tax filings (GST, income tax).
- Work with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies during audits and statutory submissions.
Budgeting & Analysis
- Support the CFO in budget tracking, financial projections, and cost control.
- Review departmental expenditures against monthly budget allocation and raise red flags where needed.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting and fund utilization tracking.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Monitor customer collections and supplier payments, and follow up on overdue balances.
- Maintain accurate tracking of leasing revenue, driver payments, and B2B contract billings.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Ensure financial data accuracy in QuickBooks and assist in project-tagging implementation.
- Proactively identify process gaps and recommend improvements in financial operations and reporting.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience (Big4 or accounting firm experience preferred).
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online or other cloud-based accounting software.
- Familiarity with multi-entity accounting and cross-border finance regulations.
- Strong understanding of Singapore tax regimes (GST, CPF, SDL, corporate tax).
- High attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and strong integrity.
- Able to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a startup, transport, or leasing environment.
- Prior experience with project-based accounting or cost centre tagging.
- Knowledge of Stripe, payroll tools, and financial automation tools.
