Position Overview:

Fairview International School is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the school's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of financial data and ensuring the school's resources are effectively managed to support our educational mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Recordkeeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with the school's accounting standards and policies. Ensure all transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
• Accounts Management:
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring that payments are made and received in a timely manner and outstanding invoices are effectively managed.
• Bank Reconciliation:
• Reconcile bank statements with the school's financial records to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Financial Reporting:
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring that the information is accurate, consistent, and ready for review by the management team.
• Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Support the Finance Manager with the preparation and monitoring of the school's annual budget, helping to ensure financial resources are allocated efficiently to support FIS's goals.
• Tax Compliance:
• Ensure adherence to local tax laws and international accounting standards. Assist with tax reporting and filing, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Audit Support:
• Provide necessary documentation and assistance to external auditors during audits, ensuring transparency and compliance.
• Internal Controls:
• Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the school's financial assets and ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirements:
• Professional qualification - ICAEW / ACCA / CIMA
• Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within an educational or international setting.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g.Autocount accounting software) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Attention to Detail:
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.
• Communication Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to present financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ethical Standards:
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism in handling financial data.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience in International Schools:
• Familiarity with financial practices in international schools or educational institutions is a plus.
• Language Skills:
• Proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous, considering the international environment of the school.
• Proficiency in speaking Mandarin is an advantage
• Experience from Audit
• Experience in listing reporting is preferred.
